The Healthy Celiac Podcast

Celiac Disease Quiz - Discover the Support You Actually Need Right Now Ep. 218

Belinda Whelan Season 1 Episode 218

In this short and exciting episode, I’m sharing something I’ve been working hard on behind the scenes... a brand-new quiz I created to help you figure out what kind of support your body needs right now if you're living with celiac disease.

Whether you’ve just been diagnosed or have been gluten free for years and still don’t feel great, this quiz is designed to cut through the overwhelm and give you clarity. It’s completely free, takes just two minutes, and doesn’t even require your email to get your results.

I’ll walk you through why I made it, what inspired me (hint: my own frustrating experience with a clueless dietitian), and how it can help you figure out the next best step in your healing journey.

Speaker 1:

Welcome back to this week's episode of the Healthy Celiac Podcast. Now, today, I'm sharing something that I'm really, really excited about, that I've been working very hard on in the background to get you know together for you guys and create and it's actually something that I wish I had back when I was first diagnosed with celiac disease back in 2009. And what it is is it's a brand new quiz that I've created and it's designed to help you figure out exactly what kind of support your body needs right now. So, as of this moment, what support you need for your situation, what support you need for your situation. And the thing is, if you're anything like I was after my diagnosis, you were probably told something along the lines of just eat gluten-free, and that's exactly what my doctor said to me. So you might've heard my story you might not have, but basically, my doctor said you just need to eat gluten-free and sent me on my merry way and my gastroenterologist sent me to a dietician and that dietician was absolutely useless and he literally got on Google in front of me and Googled celiac disease in my actual appointment so my appointment that I paid for he did what I could have done at home and he handed me a very basic printout and this is still happening today. So we're talking all these years later. I hear from people that this happens to them as well, that they go to a dietician who doesn't even know enough about celiac disease to support them.

Speaker 1:

So, you know, way back then I felt like I had no support. I was totally dismissed. I didn't get that information and that guidance that we all need when we get diagnosed with celiac disease and, honestly, it just felt a little bit humiliating to, you know, hand over that money and be given something that was absolutely useless and ridiculous. It was, honestly, just pages and pages of gluten-free products that were packaged Like. There was no helpful information in there about, you know, how to heal my gut or how to read labels or how to travel with celiac disease. There was nothing like that at all. It was just basic food swaps. So, yeah, it was pointless and, honestly, I can remember thinking is this it, is this all the help I'm going to get? I've paid all this money and that's it. So I walked away from that appointment feeling very sort of deflated I guess is the best word to explain it.

Speaker 1:

But anyway, so I created this quiz because I know there isn't a one size fits all answer when it comes to thriving with celiac disease. We're all different. So some women become, you know, very overwhelmed after their diagnosis. And others have been gluten free for years but still don't feel right. Or maybe you're still reacting to certain foods and you can't figure out why. And some women are just, you know, tired of thinking about food all the time and want things to be simpler. So, you know, trying to figure this all out is very exhausting.

Speaker 1:

So this quiz is here to help you cut through all of that and find some answers. So it's honestly, probably I don't know, I think it would take you maybe two minutes to fill it out. It's just clicking on some answers. So, after you've filled out the questions by clicking on them, you'll find out what kind of support you actually need right now. So, whether that's help with getting the basics sorted, or discovering some food triggers, or just finding consistency with your healthy habits, or maybe even just making gluten-free meals easier, so yeah, at the end it'll give you some guidance on what to do next.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, like I said, it's super quick to take. It's only a couple of minutes. It's completely free. You don't even have to enter your email. If you are scared of putting emails onto people's websites or anything like that, you don't even have to do that. You can just go on there, take the quiz and that's completely fine. You don't have to, you know, give me your email details or anything like that to get your results. So it's not one of those vague generic quizzes. You know where you get told you're a gluten-free unicorn or anything like that. It's actually useful and it'll give you some guidance. So, yeah, you're walking away knowing what your next step is for you.

Speaker 1:

So who is this quiz for? So this is for you. If you've been diagnosed with celiac disease either last week or last decade, it's still going to be relevant for you. If you're dealing with symptoms, things still you know that you're struggling with, like bloating or fatigue or even other food reactions, this would be good for you to take as well. Or even if you're just feeling lost, frustrated and still confused about what to eat or how to feel better, definitely go ahead and take the quiz as well. Or maybe you're doing okay but want meals or habits and health to just feel easier.

Speaker 1:

So if any of this is kind of resonating, I urge you to go and take the quiz and then, yeah, get your results. So to take the quiz, all you have to do is head to my website, which is belindawheelancom forward slash quiz, and I'll also put the link in the show notes below so you can just click on that and go straight to it. So, yeah, take the quiz, get your results, check out the recommendations and go from there. So, yeah, each one is. Each result is designed specifically for a different person in different stages of their journey, so it'll be very tailored to what you need. So, yeah, I hope it's.

Speaker 1:

It's fun and interesting it's. It's been a lot of work to put it all together. So, yeah, like I said, go to belindawheelancom forward slash quiz and check it out, and I'd love to hear from anyone that does the quiz. If you want to send me a message over on Instagram at the healthy celiac, I'd love to hear from you and what your results were and if you have any questions, that would be great. So, thank you so much for tuning in to this very quick episode. I will be back with some more informative podcasts with you next week and, yeah, I look forward to talking with you then. Have a fantastic week and I'll talk to you soon. Take care, bye.
