Speaker 1:

All right, welcome back to this week's episode of the Healthy Celiac Podcast. I'm your host, belinda Whelan, and today we are talking about some great gifts that you can give to people with Celiac disease or who have to eat gluten-free. So you might be looking for a gift for someone, or you might be living with Celiac disease and getting asked what you want for Christmas or your birthday. You could share this episode with loved ones to help them with some ideas, and I'll pop all the ideas over on my website, belindawhelancom, so you could just send people directly to that link as well. So let's jump on into it. So, for those of you that are watching this episode rather than just listening, you can see that I'm wearing this super cute pink t-shirt which has got Celiac written across it and a description of what Celiac disease is. Now, I bought this t-shirt I think it was, last year from the Gluten-Free Queen, au, and she does a magnificent range of gluten-free products, celiac disease products on Etsy and you'll find, you know, all these fun t-shirts with different logos and slogans on them. She's got eight brands and a really fantastic range of coffee mugs with some quite hilarious sayings on them. If I'm completely honest, I probably won't mention some of them. On here there's a few funny words, but you know that would bank a really great gift with. You know, a pack of tea bags or a bag of coffee beans, something like that would be a fun gift for that person in your life that has to consume gluten-free food. So go and check out the Gluten-Free Queen AU over on Etsy. And another one on Etsy which I really love as well is the Gluten-Free Closet. So on the Gluten-Free Closet again, she has a range of great clothing. So this is a UK based one, whereas the other one is here in Australia. So you might want to support the person that's closest to you and save on shipping fees, but I do believe that they both ship internationally, so that's something to look at as well. But this particular one that I love on the Gluten-Free Closet is this sweater, and it's so cool. It's a black sweater and it's got written on there Gluten is the Grinch, and it's in the kind of green Grinch writing, which I think is super fun. For you know, the lead up to Christmas and you know just having that conversation about gluten and just making it fun and opening up that conversation to be able to put that fun spin on. You know, living with celiac disease and having to eat gluten-free.

Speaker 1:

My favorite favorite product from this young lady is a. It's like a snack bag. It's kind of like a pencil case looking product and on it is emergency snacks or emergency Gluten-Free snacks, and I do believe she can personalize your name on there or the person that you're gifting it to. And this would make a great gift if you filled it with snacks or you just put a few different things with it. Perfect for a little kid, perfect for an adult, you know. You know you can keep it in your desk drawer at work. A child could have it as their own little stash at home where they keep their safe snacks. It could even be useful in a classroom for safe gluten-free snacks. You know. You might be able to take it to school and ask the teacher to look after it, and they know that to say, for example, you know this is Amelia's gluten-free snacks and the teacher knows very clearly where to go if the rest of the class is having you know, a treat on a particular day, whether it's a, you know, classroom celebration or someone's birthday and that child is gonna miss out. So they can just get that emergency snack out of that storage pouch, I guess, yeah, so I really love those. I would love one of those for myself, actually. I think they're super, super cute. So definitely go check those out and, like I said, I will pop all of the links over on my website, belindawheelandcom, so you can find them all very easily.

Speaker 1:

All right, the next one is William James Gifts. So I had Kali on the show recently from William James Gifts. She's based in the USA and what Kali does is such a beautiful job of putting together gluten-free gift baskets and, again, these are a gift that you can send throughout the world. So you might have a loved one that lives in another country to you but you wanna send a gift to them. You can go on Kali's website and you can place an order and you can have that shipped to wherever you need it to be shipped so you can have gluten-free food in there, you can have home ways, you can have gift lines. There's all sorts of treasure troves available on her website. So I highly recommend checking out her beautiful store online and seeing if there's a gift that you might be able to find for your loved one, because they are simply beautiful and, like I said, she does a beautiful job of putting them together. You know you can always do your own gift basket, but I know a lot of us don't have either the time or the bandwidth to go and shop for and find those goodies and put together, so perfect gift for someone that you need to send to.

Speaker 1:

The next one is gingeralbreadfolkcomau, and they do gorgeous gluten-free gingerbread houses that you can assemble yourself. So this is a really fun kind of family gift. You could give this to an adult, you could give it to a child, or you could purchase it for yourself and do it with your family and make it a bit of a tradition. I know a lot of people do this as a tradition, often on Christmas Eve, and they build it together with their family and then they enjoy it the next day with loved ones. So that's a really cute idea as well. So go and check out them as well and see if that's something that might be a fun gift for you or a loved one.

Speaker 1:

The next one is essential oils from Eco-modern Essentials. I love Eco-modern Essentials. They do a huge range of essential oils and the reason that I love them is their price point. They're an Australian company. They do such a great job at keeping their prices really, really low. I've bought essential oils in the past from MLM companies and they have cost an arm and a leg, so it's nice to find a company that has affordable essential oils. My favorite product from Eco-modern Essentials is their digestive roller, so perfect if you get kind of like a bit of bloating or a bit of uncomfortableness after a meal or stress. You simply just roll that roller ball onto your belly and massage it in. So they are a really nice gift, either for yourself or for someone else that has to live gluten-free and maybe gets the occasional tummy upsets. But all of their products are beautiful. They do diffusers and they do another huge range of other products as well, which is well worth checking out and, like I said, their product price point is fantastic. All right.

Speaker 1:

The next one is Meal Plans Made Easy, which is 500 gluten-free recipes with weekly meal plans for a year, as well as shopping lists for a year. You can check these ones out via the link that I share as well. Meal Plans Made Easy is my gluten-free program that I put together. I spent countless hours on putting this program together and it is a game changer for anyone that has to eat gluten-free. And again, this is something that you can gift to someone anywhere in the world because it is a digital download, so you don't have to worry about posting anything or worrying about it not showing up in time. You can purchase this on behalf of someone else and gift it to them, and they can access it immediately on their you know their tablet or their laptop and have access to that straight away. So that's a really great gift as well for someone that wants to eat better, save time and, you know, look after their gluten-free diet, so you'll check out the link below in for that one as well.

Speaker 1:

So gluten-free KidsCo is a beautiful business here in Australia and they make gluten-free Play-Doh and gluten-free Squish-Doh, and another product that I love from them is gluten-free affirmation cards, and as a coach, I am massive on affirmations. Affirmations are super powerful. They can completely change your mindset to be so much more positive. So to be able to give children positive affirmations about having to live gluten-free can be a game changer, and you know these are something that you could slip into their lunchbox when they go into school, or you could give them the whole box of cards. You could use them in an advent calendar. They're just such a beautiful addition to someone that has to live with celiac disease that you know a younger person and needs that positive reinforcement. So please go check out gluten-free KidsCo and learn more about her beautiful products because, like I said, they are amazing and she does such a fantastic job on making children feel included and, you know, nurtured and looked after having to live gluten-free.

Speaker 1:

The next one is the book Jack the Celiac by Alex Mangano, and Alex has done such a beautiful job with this book. She's written and illustrated it and it is such a perfect book for young ones with celiac disease to help them, you know, feel better about living with this autoimmune disease, so that's a fantastic gift for young ones to check out. Now, if you know a young one that likes baking, there is a company called littlegfchefscom and they do baking kits, so you can get a subscription where they can get a monthly box sent out to them or you can just do a one-off box, depending on your budget. But again, such a cute gift and, you know, having that feeling of being included and having that opportunity to do something that other kids get to do very normally and not have to think about too much, but having all of these you know great options in a subscription box where they can get out there and get baking and make something that's fun and safe and gluten-free is a really cute option for a little one that has to eat gluten-free. So definitely go check them out as well.

Speaker 1:

And, last but not least, if you can't come up with anything from those ideas or they don't resonate with you, simply buy a gift voucher to your friend or loved ones favorite restaurant or cafe. I love gift vouchers. I love that you can use them when you want you can. You know you can really enjoy that gift later, after Christmas, if it's been for Christmas, or you could put it towards going out for a special occasion as well. So you know, find out where your loved ones favorite restaurant is, or do some research online and find somewhere that's celiac safe and does a great job in serving gluten-free food that's close to your loved one or your family member, and purchase them a gift voucher, because that speaks volumes on the effort that you make for showing them how much you love them and you wanna care for them and nurture them. You know, for their gift whether it be Christmas, birthday, mother's Day, whatever it is that you're looking for a gift for someone in for gluten-free living with celiac disease perfect, perfect gift. You can't really go wrong with that. So I hope these ideas have helped you today to come up with something for that loved one in your life or perhaps you know you could share this with someone that's looking for a gift for you and get something really nice for yourself.

Speaker 1:

So thanks for tuning in and massive shout out to all the businesses that I've mentioned in today's episode. None of this is sponsored. This is purely off what I have found out there online and products that I think are wonderful. So, yeah, I just wanted to share those with you today. So thank you so much for listening and I will talk with you again very, very soon. Have a great week, take care bye.
